Rain-Charm for the Pelops

by Sterling Davis

May the light shine in your
hurt and corrupted spaces.

May you have no fear of death
that was promised by our father

May the lights of east and of west
Aroint all the terrible clouds.

Gone are the days of poverty--
And of division.

The stars of East and of West
Dance dance need one light.

And up and down the land
The flowers rejoice

Being spared from wolves.
Sometimes the greatest wolf

Is best at protecting the sleep.
